Leather Chair / April 29, 2018 / Charity Chapman
Another type of these chairs that many people love is one made from buckskin leather. This is made from 100% deer skin which is first treated then soaked in a solution made of wood, ash and lime before being ready for the upholstering process. Things made from buckskin leather are known to be very soft, supple and water-resistant and just exactly what you need for a combination of comfort and aesthetics. Yet another type of leather being used by many chair manufacturers is that which is chrome-tanned. This type is also known to be less elastic than vegetable-tanned leather. It is also a lot less expensive than other leather types and it dyes very well. One way of telling this type of leather is to check its edges. When they're gray, the leather used is probably chrome-tanned.
Quality leather not only appeals to the eye of the beholder, its rich texture invites touch as well. It entices people closer, and once they sit down, they will be rewarded with soft, sturdy comfort. A cream leather chair will fit into a decorating style that is already established in the home or office. Whether traditional or contemporary, existing furnishings will blend well with a nicely crafted leather piece. Cream leather sofas also blend well in a room wherein you do not want to change the overall feel. These pieces will just deepen the décor. If you want them to be the focal points of the room, they can certainly accomplish that because of their substantial appearance and comfort. Some decorators do build a room's personality around new leather furniture. Since cream is a neutral shade, it can be used in rooms featuring almost all colors. Adding vivid pillows to cream-colored seating pieces will bring in pizzazz without overpowering the décor.
